Mrs. Allen grew up in the Los Angeles Harbor area, graduating from Miraleste High School at the age of 16. She attended California State university Long Beach, participating in the Marching Band, Golddusters Dance Team, and Basketball Pep Band. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio/Television/Film and was admitted to Alpha Epsilon Rho, the National Honorary Broadcasting Society. While bowling in a student league on campus at CSLB, she met her husband, John, and they were married in 1985 at Calvary Chapel Downey.
Mrs. Allen spent most of her career in sales and account management for a prominent printer and personal computer manufacturer. She primarily managed large national franchisors and distribution accounts. Mrs. Allen was also a member of the Downey City Library Advisory Board for 7 years, serving 2 years as Chairman, worked as the school office Manager for an elementary school in the Downey Unified School District for 2 years, and served as Co-President of the Kirkwood Christian School Parent Club for 2 years. Mrs. Allen enjoys traveling with her husband and her son, Wyatt, scrapbooking, photography and water-skiing. She also enjoys services at both Calvary Chapel Downey and Florence Avenue Foursquare Church.
