Student Club Launches New School Site
This site was designed and developed by
Mr. D. and his after-school "WebDev" club during the Fall 2001 semester.

Although most of the work was done in Notepad, Mr.D is now training club members in industry-standard Web graphics programs like Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop.

Parts of the site are updated weekly by Jr. High students writing hand-coded HTML.

Casio Loan Enhances Cross-curricular Program
Jr. High students learned historical and scientific facts about the Statue of Liberty through a community-service-based scenario conducted mid-semester by Mr. D. and Miss Urschel (December 2001).

Students used the Internet and handheld Cassiopeia Windows CE machines (on loan from Casio) to find real-time flight and hotel information and create a budget which included food, lodging, transportation, entertainment and more.

8th grader Nicole V. told Mr. D and Miss Urschel, "Learning like this is so fun! We really should do this more often!"
